before pictures-
I did it! After months of agonizing about this project and attempting to define and evaluate the differences between a need and want- I signed the contract. I say "I" because Mark wants nothing to do with the project from beginning to end. Now, some women might appreciate total autonomy on a renovation project like this, but don't let him fool you- he is smart enough to know that "I" also own it if this project goes awry!
The sledge hammers are scheduled to arrive on March 22nd -which leaves us a bit more than 6 weeks til Graduation Day (G-Day)-Time to start packing up the CHACHKIS and years of accumulated 'stuff' that, sentimental value aside, has simply worn out its welcome. I have started my TO DO list and it is beginning to make me a tad anxious... As I just told someone else who is feeling a bit overwhelmed, it's like eating an elephant- do it one bite at a time! (disclaimer: I am not recommending that anyone eat an elephant)
Tasks this week:
- Clear all art work and wall hangings and pack or prepare for yard sale
- Pack all knick-knacky, trinkety, chachkis decor (in a B-I-G box labeled "yard sale")
- Move all remaining furniture to front room (dining room)
- Send area rugs to cleaners (and prepare for yard sale)
- Clean out closets & pantry
- Pack framed photos and electronics
- Begin dropping tranquilizers in husband's coffee! (and dog's water!)
